Wordless Wonders: Exploring Interactive Read-Alouds through Wordless Children's Books

This session will explore using wordless children’s books for interactive read-alouds. We will align best practices from Michigan’s Essential Literacy Practices, Developmentally Appropriate Practice, and COR Advantage. Participants will explore diverse wordless books and create plans to incorporate these in their classrooms. Teachers will be able to use these stories to develop the idea of mirrors and windows, where children see themselves reflected in the books and see the books as windows into other worlds.
