Highlights from Developmentally Appropriate Practice, Fourth Edition: A Crosswalk With NAEYC Early Learning Program Standards and the HighScope Curriculum

The Developmentally Appropriate Practice (DAP) position statement and book are widely used as guides for implementing equitable early learning. This session will include an overview of changes in the fourth edition of Developmentally Appropriate Practice and its main sections: The Core Considerations; The Principles of Child Development; and Learning and the Guidelines for Practice. Classroom vignettes focused on the important role of the intentional teacher will provide participants with an opportunity to explore connections between DAP, NAEYC’s Early Learning Program Standards, and the HighScope Curriculum.
