Unlocking the Potential of Data-Driven Coaching: Child Assessment Evidence as a Guide for Informing Instructional Practices

In a supportive environment, the same child assessment data used to understand children's growth and progress can also provide valuable insights into teachers' practices. These insights can then be used to create customized coaching plans to enhance instructional activities, strategies, and settings and to promote children's learning. This session explores our work as coaches and through our examination of research on assessment and coaching. Participants will be introduced to the key components of a successful coaching process: determining comprehension and motivation and building relationships; setting goals and developing action plans; implementing and individualizing coaching strategies; and tracking progress to continuously improve coaching and instruction.
